Growing up in the Boston with the last name 'Cheever', I spent a lot of time responding to questions like this:
"Cheever? You related to the goalie?"
And when you read that, imagine the voice in your head saying "Cheevah". Gerry Cheevers was a legendary goalie for the Boston Bruins, which an iconic mask that had a stitch mark applied for every time a hockey puck hit his mask. Anyway, I'm not related to Gerry Cheevers. I met him once, briefly, and he was a nice guy. Ironically, I'm better acquainted with his wife, who was a travel agent and worked with the mother of one of my closest friends; this is how I came to possess a piece of paper that reads "Tom is not related to me in any way or shape, so please stop asking him" signed by Gerry Cheevers.
All of this leads to the point of posting which is that Gerry Cheevers apparently now has his own line of officially licensed clothing, featuring that iconic hockey mask. You can even buy replicas of the famous mask, which is probably very cool if you're a rabid hockey fan. All this can be found at Gerry Cheevers' official website.
